New work in American Journal of Science
New paper summarizing our efforts in the northern Ross Sea! A little old, but hey we made the cover of American Journal of Science.
New work in The Cryosphere coming soon
In a banner month, we’ve had two papers accepted in The Cryosphere bearing on the thickness of the West Antarctic ice sheet draining into the Weddell Sea embayment. One by Keir Nichols and the other by Perry Spector of Berkeley Geochronology Center. Final publication will be available online soon! In the mean time, since it is an open discussion format journal, which by the way are great to publish in, can be found here.

See our recent work published in Nuclear Instruments and Methods summarizing our in situ carbon-14 extraction system and its performance. Since we wrote this paper, we have measured more than 100 additional samples from all over the world.
Thwaites Glacier project now underway
The Tulane cosmogenic nuclide lab is proud to be part of the US-UK International Thwaites Glacier Collaboration. Eight projects will be investigating Thwaites Glacier and the surrounding region from all avenues and both present and past in order to better understand its possible future. The Tulane lab will be part of the Geologic History Constraints team where we will be drilling through Thwaites Glacier to collect subglacial bedrock to see if and when Thwaites Glacier was smaller than today and if so, how did it regrow. We just published in Science the culmination of nearly nearly 10 years of work in western Canada on the demise of the Cordilleran Ice Sheet and its response to climate fluctuations at the end of the Last Glacial Maximum.
